INDEPENDENCE

The atmosphere glitters as the firmament cools off the day (even in the far north-west); the birds fly with confidence with their wings spread in happiness about a new dawn as their hunters have taken away all snares; the donkeys carry wares and grasses in smaller quantity as their riders give them a long rope (at least for today); the expressways and routes remain relatively silent as many vehicles are getting some rests at their owners' haven; there're sudden appearances of colour green and white across the streets and highways like house-flies during my last days at the NYSC orientation camp in Dakingari; faces appear on television across national stations discussing with the word "INDEPENDENCE" fusing all of them together, and I began to ruminate about the truth of it.

I see that all that are written above are ephemeral as the weather will still do what it does best; the hunters will place their snares strategically again; the expressways and routes will start lamenting in no time; colour green and white filling everywhere will soon disappear and those faces seen on national TVs might not be seen again to discuss INDEPENDENCE.

So, In my conclusion I realize the truth that the celebration isn't worth it but the appeasement I have is "who the Lord has set free is free indeed".

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all Nigerians at home and in Diaspora

I LOVE JESUS!!!
