Revelation of the new man

A big thanks to you for coming online as we ingest and digest the scriptures in line with God's revelation.

May the light of God illuminate our hearts and grant us entrance into the repository of his words in Jesus name.

Let's begin.
Ephesians 4:24 (NLT) says "Put on your new nature, CREATED TO BE LIKE GOD - truly righteous and holy"

Firstly, I'll like you to know this:
If there's a NEW MAN,  it means there's definitely an OLD MAN.

Let's go back to the accounts of creation to have a better understanding.
In Genesis 1:26a (NLT), the Bible says: "Then God said, let us make human beings in our image, TO BE LIKE US".

In verse 27, something is made known to us. Let's see it.
"So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them"

What is missing in verse 26 and 27?
Answer: LIKENESS
That is, the old man was created in the image of God but not yet like GOD.

So, who is an old man?

The OLD MAN in my definition is "a being who has no clue, understanding, or any form of experience about the likeness of GOD even though he was birthed by GOD".

Having defined the OLD MAN, I'd like you to understand that this exposition isn't about the old man but the NEW MAN and It's important that we discuss the old man in order to understand the new man clearer.

Eph 4:24 (NLT) says "put on your new  nature,  CREATED TO BE LIKE GOD - truly righteous and holy"

From the Bible verse quoted above, I can define the "NEW MAN" as an ancient wisdom birthed by God in His image and LIKENESS. Succinctly, a new man is A BEING LIKE GOD".

Hope you're getting it?
Let's continue.

Adam wasn't yet like GOD at the accounts of creation in Genesis because if he was, he wouldn't have fallen for the guise of the serpent (the devil) through his wife. Do you know why?
Answer: God cannot be deceived cos He doesn't change from His wisdom level to folly...see Malachi 3:6a.

The devil thought Adam would have to pass through some refinement to become like God but was oblivious of the truth that
God had planned the revelation of the new man before the foundation of the world even with Adam as a tool despite his fall.

Before I continue, you have to understand that Lucifer had fallen to the earth before the occurrence in Eden.
Revelations 12:12b (NLT) says "But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to the earth with great anger, knowing that he has little time.

The devil deceived them in the Garden of Eden to alter God's plan of revealing the MAN LIKE HIM but he didn't know that his successful deception set the plan on motion.

Pls don't forget that God had not revealed the new man (who was like him), he only revealed Adam even though the devil thought he had captured the man like God.

Hmm!
After they (i.e. ADAM and EVE) sinned, God asked questions from Adam. That is, Genesis 3:11 (NLT) "Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?”

Also, He asked questions from Eve. That is, Genesis 3:13a (NLT) "Then the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?

BUT

GOD cursed the serpent without questioning. Genesis 3:14 (NLT) Then the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all animals, domestic and wild,You will crawl on your belly, groveling in the dust as long as you live.

Are you asking why he cursed the serpent without interrogating him?
Answer:
The serpent that deceived them wasn't just a snake but the devil. Revelation 20:2 (NLT)
He seized the dragon—that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years.
The serpent was cursed because he had proven himself as a gangster whose notoreity sent him packing from heaven 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also, God cursed the earth and concealed the NEW MAN in the CURSE against the serpent. Genesis 3:15 (NLT) "And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel"

"He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel" is an aphorism revealing Christ in  concealment (Christ was revealed yet concealed).

MAN sinned and GOD left him without curse but cursed the earth. Why?
Answer:
God couldn't curse man because He had chosen man in Himself before the foundation of the world. Eph 1:4 (NLT) "Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes".
HALLELUYAH!!!
In the infiniteness of God's wisdom, it is seen above that the OLD MAN was living in a cursed earth and the revelation of the NEW MAN lies in the CURSE against the serpent, and as a result, he had to be revealed to rescue man through crucifixion
Galatians 3:13 (NLT) says "But Christ has rescued us from the CURSE pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross,  he took upon himself the CURSE of our wrongdoings. For it is written in the scriptures, cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree". See also Deut 21:23.

There's a high probability that this verse will raise certain questions in your heart👇
General 3:15 (NLT) "And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel".

My response to your assumed question can better be explained in the words of JIMMY SWAGGART as he perfectly expatiates it more than I will be able to put it. Kindly read 👇:

Gen 3:15 (NLT) "And I will cause hostility (animosity) between you and the woman (presents the Lord now actually speaking to Satan, who had used the serpent; in effect, the Lord is saying to Satan, "you used the woman to bring down the human race, and I will use the woman as an instrument to bring the Redeemer into the world, who will save the human race)", and between your offspring (mankind which follows Satan) and her offspring (the Lord Jesus Christ). He will strike ur your head (the victory that Jesus won at the cross [see Col 2:14-15]), and you will strike his heel" (the sufferings of the Cross)

To further explain it in my words, He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel" is an aphorism revealing Christ in concealment (i.e Christ was revealed yet concealed)
I hope you can see that Christ was revealed in that verse but was concealed in those words.

I'm pretty sure that the devil was made to look like a simpleton with such ancient wisdom of God.
No wonder 1Corinthians 2:8 (NLT) says "But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord"

Before I continue, I'll like you to know that Christ had been slain before the foundation of the world and so, the revelation of Christ in the physical was sacrosanct to atone for "the yet non-physical man". Also, the LAMB (Christ) was not cursed at all or did He ever do anything wrong in order to atone for man before existence but the serpent was cursed and therein (the curse) lies the activation of the process of the new life that the lamb was slain for.

See this: 1Peter 1:20 (NLT) God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but he has now revealed him to you in these last days. No wonder Paul said in Galatians 2:20 (NLT) that "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.  So, I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me".

If the old man could give life, CREATION WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO FUTILITY AGAINST ITS WILL WITH EAGER HOPE FOR THE NEW NATURE. Romans 8:20 (NLT) says "Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope.
Halleluyah!!!

In a simple equation the breakdown of this exposition can be written as:

The OLD MAN = The Adamic nature/a governance by the law of sin and death

The NEW MAN = CHRIST/the law of the Spirit of life.

Once again, If the old man could give life, God wouldn't have revealed the new man and; God never gave eternal life through the OLD MAN, He only made promises but gave eternal life through THE NEW MAN (Christ).  Halleluyah!!!

The common attribute possessed by the new man and the old man is:
  • They're both birthed by God

How do I mean?

Response:
It took God to bring the OLD MAN into existence. See Genesis 1:27.
THE OLD MAN never existed (even angels knew nothing about him) until God formed him. I believe they (angels) would praise God again and again for such mystery and mastery of  God's inestimable powers

It also took God to birth the NEW MAN.
Read Luke chapter 1.
It didn't take human's knowledge for Mary to conceive Christ. It took the HOLY SPIRIT (i.e God,  read John 4:24).

In summary, it was the same God that created man in Genesis 1:27 that came upon Mary in Luke 1:26-37

ATTRIBUTES PECULIAR TO THE NEW MAN

  • The new man gives salvation by GRACE (taming the law but giving the Spirit) through faith
The Bible says in Titus 2:11-12 (NIV) that: "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age
Please note that GRACE = CHRIST

Ephesians 2:8 (NLT) says: "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God"

With Ephesians 2:8 quoted above, it is seen that the revealed (new) man is a gift and it is a perfect quintessence of the eternal love of God.

  • Condemnation is non-existent in the new man, it is an attribute of the old nature.
Romans 8:1-3 (NLT)  says:
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies sinners have and in that body, God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins"

  • He is a life-giving Spirit.
While the OLD MAN subjects us to death through the law, the NEW MAN gives life.
1 Corinthians 15:45 (NLT) says:
"The first man, Adam, became a living person." But the last Adam--that is, Christ--is a life-giving Spirit"

  • The NEW MAN is the gate-way to the Father
If the OLD MAN could access God, there wouldn't be any need for the NEW MAN.
If access could be granted by the OLD MAN,  ADAM wouldn't have subjected creation to futility in hope for the revelation of the new nature.  Romans 8:20-21 (NIV) says "For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God".

As for the NEW MAN, it is written in Genesis 28:12 (NLT) that "As he slept (Jacob) , he dreamed of a stairway that reached from the earth up to heaven. And he saw the angels of God going up and down the stairway"
It is further written in John 1:51 (NLT): "Then he said, "I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway between heaven and earth"*.

From the quoted verses above (i.e. Roman's 8:20-21), it is proven that the Old man subjected creation (Angels inclusive) to futility in hope for Christ who is the way to the Father. So, Christ understood the profundity of what he was saying in John 14:6 (NLT)  "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one (it means all creatures including the angels) can come to the Father except through me".

  • You're like Him if you're in Him
What this means is that the OLD MAN in you is completely extirpated (i.e you don't have the DNA of the old man anymore,  not traceable to him anymore) and you've got a nature that permits entrance to the Father's abode.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) says "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

Finally,
The revelation of the NEW MAN is the revelation of CHRIST who gives eternal life through faith.  Read John 3:16 (NLT) “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
