MARRIAGE (Part 1)

May Christ alone be exalted as I write and may the power of my flesh be subdued in Jesus name (Amen) πŸ™

According to the Britannica encyclopaedia, marriage is a legally and socially sanctioned union, usually between a man and a woman, that is regulated by laws, rules, customs, beliefs, and attitudes that prescribe the rights and duties of the partners and accords status to their offspring (if any)."

In my own simple definition, "marriage is God's establishment which unites two distinctly sophisticated beings into a whole stature of submission devoid of mistrust."

Everything written in the Britannica encyclopaedia is correct but lacks GOD'S content.

Marriage never existed until God said in Genesis 2:18 (NLT)  "Then the LORD God said, β€œIt is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him"

Note the bold words πŸ‘† (i.e helper who is just right).

Let's see how some other bible versions put the words.

NIV: ...helper suitable for him.
ESV: ...helper fit for him.
NKJV:...helper comparable to him
KJV: ...an help meet for him.
CEV: ...suitable partner for him.
ISV: ...an authority corresponding to him.

Why am I writing out these words from different versions? I'm writing them out for the furtherance of explanation on the customs and beliefs of God's kingdom about the created union.

After God established the union between the man and the woman, He further blessed them as it is written in Genesis 1:28 (NLT)  God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

God knew what he was saying by blessing them and placing both of them over all other creatures. He could have easily said that either of the parties in the union should dominate the other but no, He rather said that both parties should subdue the earth and the things therein.

Please note,  this isn't furthering the teaching of feminism but the truth of the scripture.

From the above scripture, it is discovered that no party should be subdued in the union i.e they're both active partners.
Yes, I know that the sophistication of your mind will remind you of the scripture that calls one the head (Ephesians 5:23) but don't forget that the other party is neither also called a slave but the body of the former...see Eph 5:28.

Also,  if the other party is to be subdued,  the scripture would have defined it clearly, but it separates the conversation of SLAVES and MASTERS from HUSBANDS and WIVES... See Eph 6:5-9 (for slaves and masters) .

The scripture understands master-slave relationship and "husband-wife" relationship.

This topic is inexhaustible and many points are yet to be written and the aim is not to encourage rebellion but to elucidate what the scripture says as against the present practices in many homes.

...to be continued.

I LOVE JESUS!!!
