Christ's position on homosexuality

Image
Before I commence, please note that this write-up is a joint effort; I combined my write-up  with a friend's to arrive at a conclusion. I begin. Today I want to address another popular argument for reconciling homosexuality with true Christianity premised on the objection that Jesus Himself never said a word about homosexuality. Those who make this argument grant that Paul condemned it as sinful as stated in the books below: Romans 1:26–27 (NLT) " That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved"   1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (NLT)  " Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. ...

Live the word

Knowledge is light. Yes, it is! But, what kind of light is it? Ones knowledge of the Word of God does not guarantee life without a walk with the Spirit of the Word. If you claim you know the Word, Satan knows better but there's something that he's not permitted to access i.e THE HOLYSPIRIT. So, knowledge without the HOLYSPIRIT does these to you: It makes you boast in vain. It makes you proud and feel you're following God's instructions. It makes your words unrefined. It makes you selfish (as you'll be quoting Matt 25:8-9, "the parable of the ten virgins") It makes you feel that you're right when you're wrong. It makes you vulnerable while you think you're well guarded. It makes you think you're wise while your folly is conspicuously displayed. It makes you a judge over others, etc. I know that the bible says (Psalm 119:130) " The word of the Lord gives light and understanding to the simple . Also, in John 1:4 " the light is the li...

All will be well

There comes a time in one's life that it looks like the sun is set; a time when one's cloud is plain, the world around one looks murky and one is left in the lurch; a time that one hears sound from the speaker and later discovers that it's nothing but ventriloquy; a time that one is parched and then looks afar with water ahead but discovers it's a mirage; a time to run with meteoric speed but the quagmire slows down one's speed; a time of dehydration in the desert with no luck of oasis; a time when one is skilled in speech-presentation but cannot display such virtuoso as a result of aphonia. Hmm! A time one sits outside, looks around but yet feels lovelorn and forlorn because one feels denunciated; a time when one approaches someone that one is enamoured-of with emotional suasion but what one gets is a caustic retort; a time when your despotic boss looks at the arduous task done by you with such paucity and then makes you look like the Isrealites in Egypt. It is wel...

Don't just come, remain also in Him

Image
The bible says in John 15:5 "I am the vine, ye are the branches, those who remain in me and I in them will produce MUCH FRUIT, for apart from me you can do nothing". The big question here is: "HOW CAN WE REMAIN IN HIM? We cannot remain in Him if we haven't first come to Him because it is only those that come to Him that can remain in Him . So, how can you also come? John 3:16 says, " for God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" .  It means that you cannot come to Him unless you believe Him. John 1:12 says, " All who believed in Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God" . This means that you will  become part of the church (body of Christ) when you believe. Now that you've come to Him, how do you remain in Him? It's simple! All you need do is eat nutritious food which is Christ's flesh and blood.  John 6:56 says "Anyo...

HE IS NOT ACCESSED BY VARIETY

Image
HE could only come to Adam when HIS LIFE was in Him. All He wanted from the Israelites to be whole again was to behold the hung snake (a shadow of the TRUTH). All He demanded to fall the wall of Jericho was a shout (obedience, which is THE WAY). No wonder, David said we can only be righteous by obeying your word (CHRIST) Psalm 119:9 He gave only MANNA to the Israelites for 40 years in the wilderness before they could enter into the promised land. The manna was needful because they needed to be changed into a being of the land; it's a shadow of the Flesh and Blood of Christ that must be eaten to the fullest to be a son in HIS kingdom. God doesn't want variety (any other means of accessing Him), all He wants is CHRIST and Christ meant it when He said "no one comes to the Father except by Him". Men are dying because they are seeking the need of the dead (i.e. what they think God wants) but God says He is not interested for there is only one God and one Mediator who...

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST

Image
I am writing nothing about CHURCH's history nor am I trying to affirm a traditional religious parlance that the church means "the people". No! I am not. I BEGIN Matthew 16:18 (NLT) says " Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build MY CHURCH, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it" Please note that there were churches (temples) during the time of Jesus. In fact, Jesus even preached in the temple as a teen and temples existed on earth before Christ appeared in the flesh.  So, what CHURCH was Christ wanting to build while he was talking to His disciples as there were many temples already? Also, Christ wasn't saying that he would build HIS CHURCH on Peter (the rock). It was a figurative expression explaining understandably how strong HIS CHURCH will stand. So, what CHURCH was Christ talking about since I wrote that it's not literally "the people" nor "the temple?" Before I continue, p...

MARRIAGE (concluding part)

Image
I pray that the light of God will flood our hearts and grant us understanding in Jesus' name.  Amen 🙏. Let us continue. The regulation, rule, custom and belief of the kingdom about this union is that both parties in it are seen as one, that is, they are now one flesh. Now,  let's go back to Genesis 2:18(NLT) " The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. " Remember,  in the first part of this exposition I highlighted how several other versions put it (i.e. " h elper suitable for him "). The aim is to link it with the description of Christ in Mark 10:9(NLT) which says " Therefore, what God has joined together,  let no one separate. So,  how do I mean? What's the point? The point is that the woman brought to the man was a match for him and such union should not be sundered because it's founded by God.  Mark 10:9 specifically says " What God has joined…. ” Christ answered the Pharisee...
